The mikeBot Project

November 01, 1998 | http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.planetquake.com/mikebot |

The mikeBot Project is a C++ program which emulates a client for id software's excellent game Quake. To a Quake server, mikeBot is no different from a human player.

The code for mikeBot is quite modular and allows other developers to easilly use it as a base for their own bots. I was never satisfied enough with the AI to release an official binary, but if you really want the code I have (rather than the code intended as a base), you'll need to mail me and I'll be happy to send it along.

Although I havn't worked on mikeBot since November 1998, there is still useful things available at the site. I hope to find the time at some point to continue development and perhaps upgrade the network code to work with Quake 2 and Quake 3. If anyone else is interested in continuing the development of mikeBot, mail me.
